2026 New York Medicaid Income & Asset Limits: Aged, Blind or Disabled
For 2026, the monthly Medicaid income limits for individuals who are age 65 or older, certified blind, or disabled are:
-
Single applicant: $1,836 per month
-
Married couple: $2,489 per month when both spouses are applying
Applicants whose income exceeds these limits may still qualify through options such as Medicaid’s Excess Income Program or a Pooled Income Trust. Eligibility also depends on assets, household circumstances, medical needs, and the type of Medicaid coverage requested.
These figures apply to many community-based Medicaid programs and should not be confused with the budgeting rules used for nursing home residents. New York State Medicaid information
